Before the city was named “Hua Hin”, a story was told that around year 1834, in the reign of King Nang Klao, some of the agricultural areas in Petchburi were afflicted by a severe drought. Some of citizens moved south until they found “Samoh Rieng village”, up from Kao Takieb and Nong kae or Ban Nong Sakae. In Samoh Rieng, the
seashore is very unusual. The rocks on the shore were beautifully spread out and the land was just right for farming and fishing, and was originally called “Samoh Rieng” village. Huan Hin is a very famous vacation destination in Thailand, is well known to Thai’s and foreigners because of the gracious actions of the Ratanakosin Kings and royal family, starting from the time Hua Hin Municipality was renamed “Samoh Rieng”. Hua Hin Beach The crystal clear water, clean white sand and wonderful atmosphere have contributed to making Hua Hin the resort of choice for tourists. This beach was the first in Thailand to gain fame and popularity and continues to delight visitors of all ages. Had Suan Son Pradiphat Beach
This beautiful stretch of beach, 9 km south of Hua Hin, gets it name from the Casuarina trees (son) growing along the shore.

This small beach is at the foot of Khao Tao Hill about 13 km south of Hua Hin on the Petchakasem Road. It is another tranquil spot, with a large Buddha image facing the sea.
Kho Sing Toh Island
This Island is about 800 m offshore from Suan Son Beach, and is very popular with fishermen and divers. It can be reached by boat, available for rent at Khao Takaib Village.
Mount Khao Takaib (vantage point)

This summer palace was built by the command of King Rama VI in the

Phra Nakhon Khiri Historical Park
This park is a collection of palace buildings and temples built in 1859 for King Rama IV. The historic park opens every day from 8:30 a.m. to 17:30 p.m.
